Glynne Anderson

Glynne Anderson is full time Pet Behaviour Consultant providing a referral practice for vets whose patients present behavioural problems. In dogs such as digging, chewing, incessant barking, fighting, biting & aggression etc. In cats: spraying, fighting and over grooming etc. Birds and exotic pets are included among her patients.

Glynne was one of the first to recognise the importance of pet behaviour & in 1991 she introduced & hosted monthly workshops in her home for predominantly veterinarians.

Glynne is also an accredited dog handler, holding many Champion Certificates in most disciplines in the competitive field of dogdom - obedience, working trials, police dog trials, tracking trials (ITT) & international working trials (equivalent to Schutzhund/IPO)

She is also founder and director of Canine Academy - the oldest established, private dog training school in Kwazulu-Natal which is attended by approximately 1000 dogs/puppies, of all breeds, per year.

Glynne has also made her mark in the academic field having presented a paper on dog behaviour at the first International Conference on Veterinary Behavioural Medicine (1997) in the United Kingdom. She has also had an abstract on her research in coprophagia accepted at the 31st international congress of the International Society of Applied Ethology (1997) held in Prague, Czech Republic.

Glynne is the first and only South African accredited member of the internationally recognised Association of Pet Behaviour Counselors, United Kingdom (founded by world acclaimed animal behaviourists Peter Neville and John Fisher). It has an international membership of approximately 44 accredited members, most of whom are well known icons in the field of pet behaviour.

Glynne is also an accredited member of the Animal Behaviour Consultants of Southern Africa and holds a certificate in Companion Animal Behaviour issued by Onderstepoort Veternianary College, University of Pretoria. She was subsequently appointed by Prof. Odendaal (Ethology Department) at Onderstepoort, to answer behaviour queries on his behalf. This led to Glynne's employment as M-Web's Online Pet Behaviour Consultant, which enjoyed international exposure.

Glynne is a qualified high school teacher & lectured for many years at the Natal Technicon and ML Sultan College. This has stood her in good stead in her work with clients and teaching classes.

Glynne is also a well known radio personality, presented her own Pet Shrink program, writes a regular pet behaviour column, contributes to popular magazines and is a celebrity cat judge. Glynne is also an Honorary Advisor to the local SPCA's, appears on TV and is often called upon by the media and courts for her 'expert' comments and opinion.

She is also an accredited KUSA working trials judge and dog aptitude testing judge.
