Shannon McKay

Shannon has a long history in the domestic obedience field, having trained her first dog to intermediate level at the age of nine. In addition to running training classes she has been helping dog owners to deal with behavioural problems for the past six years.

Shannon's special area of interest is in helping domestic dog owners develop an empathy for the demands placed on working dogs in a "non-working" suburban environment.

Shannon has a Certificate in Companion Animal Behaviour from the Department of Veterinary Ethology at the University of Pretoria and also initiated the Canine Culture Education Initiative, which is dedicated to on-going education in canine behaviour.
